During & After Hip Surgery :

Driving & Travelling After Hip Surgery

Major Hip surgery adversely affects reaction times and it is a good idea to refrain from driving for 6 weeks after your operation.

Long journeys (> 1hour) should be avoided for 6 weeks because your hip will feel uncomfortable and stiff. Most airlines advise that you shouldn’t fly within three months of surgery because of the increased risk of developing a deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
